Support from BFI FAN

BFI FAN receives funds from the National Lottery to support the delivery of the BFI’s 10-year strategic plan, Screen Culture 2033.
Funding

How funding is deployed varies by Film Hub, but, in general, there is both:

  • Project support, which supports annual and multi-year activity that bring audiences together for a communal viewing experience, in particular screenings of UK independent and international films.
  • Bursary funds for training and professional development

Project support funds are typically oversubscribed, so it’s important to make contact with your Film Hub at an early stage of your planning to get guidance on the application process and timelines.

Other funds

Some Film Hubs have other funds for more specific areas of activity, for example young audiences, and accessibility or national initiatives in the nations.

Joining BFI FAN also offers organisations the chance to take part in exciting, UK-wide cultural moments like Too Much: Melodrama on Film by accessing project funds and publicity and marketing support.
