Less than a month until the Reframing Film sessions at Cinema Rediscovered

 

Exhibitors from across the UK are invited to hear from some of the most inspiring voices in the worlds of exhibition, distribution and restoration to explore exciting ways of connecting older films with a new wave of cinema goers, find out more about restorations and physical media, and acquire practical insights into film rights and materials.

The event will also launch the Cinema Rediscovered touring programme, with titles from the festival available to book for venues across the UK and Ireland.

Attendees will also receive an invitation to the Opening Keynote by BAFTA-winning and Oscar-nominated film producer Stephen Woolley and access to early morning industry preview screenings on Thursday, 25 and Friday, 26 July including The Descent (Dir: Neil Marshall 2005 Park Circus and Pathé), The Devil’s Backbone (Dir: Guillermo del Toro, 2001 c/o STUDIOCANAL and Sony) and All That Heaven Allows (Dir: Douglas Sirk 1955 c/o Universal and Park Circus – Release Date: 24 October).

 

This is a Film Hub South West led initiative co-presented with the Independent Cinema Office and BFI Film Audience Network (FAN) partners funded through National Lottery. This event is primarily aimed at BFI FAN Members and associated freelancers. Cinema Rediscovered on tour, UK and Ireland 2025

 

A reminder to UK and Ireland based exhibitors that Cinema Rediscovered launches a touring programme of highlights available August 2025 – January 2026 supported by BFI awarding funds from National Lottery.

 

Titles include a brand new restorations of Charles Burnett’s pioneering film about blue collar life Killer of Sheep (USA, 1978) and My Beautiful Laundrette (1985) on its 40th anniversary, Kalamita (Calamity, 1982) a biting social satire from prominent Czech New Wave director Věra Chytilová (1982) and Nationalité: Immigré (1975), Sidney Sokhona’s first film which tells the story of the struggle of immigrant workers in France and Carlos Saura’s raw, startlingly naturalistic tale of love outside the law Deprisa, Deprisa (1981).

 

This is a great opportunity to book any of the touring offer titles on favourable terms (including many titles available on both theatrical and non-theatrical formats), access guest speakers and assets (such as copy, images and pre-recorded intros on specific titles), and be part of a UK-wide PR campaign (c/o Pam Beddard PR), plus apply for support towards your local events.
