Green Hour – Tracking Environmental Impact

BFI FAN: Green Hour is a series of events for UK film exhibitors focusing on environmental sustainability. Join us online at a new time of Wednesday 4th December for a session on Festivals and Environmental Sustainability.

Who is the event for?

This is a UK-wide event, open to all members of the BFI Film Audience Network’s regional and national Film Hubs.

Speakers

Danielle Pipe (she/her)

Danielle joined Julie’s Bicycle in October 2021 as a Sustainability Coordinator within the Creative Green Consultancy Programme, supporting the team across a variety of projects. Before joining Julie’s Bicycle, she worked in the social housing sector on energy efficiency and renovation projects before focusing more on environmental work.

Danielle holds an MSc in Sustainability and Consultancy from the University of Leeds, during which she completed a research project placement with Leeds 2023 Year of Culture, focusing on sustainable events and exploring best practice from events and festivals working to reduce their environmental impact. Danielle also works closely with membership network, Sustainable Arts in Leeds, delivering Carbon Literacy Training sessions for members, accredited by the Carbon Literacy Project.

Zoe Rasbash (she/her)

Zoe is a researcher, writer and programmer working at the intersection of creative industries and climate justice. She is currently Climate Action Researcher at Watershed in Bristol, a cultural organisation focussed on togetherness. She is co-founder of Lilith Film Club, climate editor for Shado-Mag and previously campaigned with UKYCC, Amnesty International and for UN Taskforce on Climate Displacement. She works to co-design resources to enable action and combat overwhelm, and likes creating spaces of imagination to design actions in the now which realise more radical futures.
